WiFi Strength – Privacy Policy

1. Introduction [Edusoft Limited] (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application, WiFi Signal Strength (the “App”).

2. Data We Collect and Why The App requires specific permissions to function correctly. Here is a breakdown of the data accessed:

• Location Services (Wi-Fi SSID & BSSID):

  • What: We request “Location When In Use” permission.

  • Why: On macOS, Apple requires Location Services permission to read the name of your Wi-Fi network (SSID) and the hardware address (BSSID).

  • Privacy: We do not track, store, or transmit your physical GPS location. This permission is used strictly to display the name of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to.

• Network Information (Public IP & Latency):

  • What: The App retrieves your Public IP address and measures latency (ping) to external servers (e.g., Google).

  • Why: To provide the “Public IP Dashboard” and “Latency” features.

  • Privacy: Your Public IP address is fetched via a third-party API (api.ipify.org). It is displayed on your screen and is not stored permanently by us.

• Purchase Data:

  • What: We track subscription status (Free vs. Pro).

  • Why: To unlock premium features like the Menu Bar Monitor and History Charts.

3. Third-Party Services We use the following third-party services to ensure the App functions correctly:

• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage In-App Purchases and subscriptions. They may collect anonymous data regarding purchase history to validate your Pro status.

• Ipify: We use ipify.org API to determine your Public IP address.

• Apple: All payments are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your credit card information or billing details.

4. Data Retention

• Local Storage: Historical data for the “History Charts” (Signal Strength and Latency) is stored locally in your device’s RAM while the app is running. This data is not uploaded to any server.

5. Children’s Privacy The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
